X factor is here and I hate already.

Well not as much as the last couple of years but still hate it never the less.

In the last couple of years I have hate the way that they find someone who can sing and they have lost there family to frost bite or something. Every year was eating worse and worse and to be honest I have enough troubles without having to worry about others so I was rather pleased when I heard that they were stopping that.

Anyway the talent this year for me is rather poor and I really can see why Simon cowell does not want to continue next year.

An Office Themed Bar

I have seen some really really bad ideas for bars while I have been blogging here. But this takes the biscuit. All the other quirky themed bars I have blogged about have all been foreign, so you cant help but think that there is probably some cultural misunderstanding, or something that doesn’t quite translate between 2 cultures.

There are plans afoot to create an office themed bar in Brighton, where you sit around on office chairs around desks, drink and try to have a good time. The place also has plans to implement cubicles, photocopiers and waiters dressed up as secretaries that will serve up drinks.

It sounds like a quirky idea until you think that 80% of the people who go to bars, go to get away from office life. I’m kind of shocked that there are people dumb enough to think that this is a good idea. Sure, they sell alcohol, but would you honestly think about spending the few precious hours we get away from our office job back sitting at your office desks, messing around with the photocopiers and staplers. It’s really not my cup of tea.

I really would love to see it succeed, but I fear the owners are just going to waste a whole lot of time and money.

Breeze – (Bangkok)

New on the cool bars category is this entry from Bangkok. This bar sits atop the State tower at a rather dizzying 810 feet high. With views over the entire Bangkok area and summer heat baking down from above, I don’t think I would care too much about the quality of the food.

But for all you millionaires out there they are the worlds highest seafood restaurant, serving some of the deepest sea animals around. Its a pretty good selling point if you ask me. The venue itself covers 2 floors, with a wine cellar and Multiple different areas for meetings and vip areas. Sounds pretty exclusive to me.

Telford

So yeah, I worked in Telford for a while and thought it could do with a bit of a plug as a decent night out.. As glum as it sounds, Telford is infact brilliant.

The brilliant Pussycats in Wellington (close to Telford) has 2 massive rooms: one for RnB and one for the most awesome glow stick induced trance music. Bring plenty of cash though.. It gets really expensive and there isn’t a cash machine for miles.

The major down side to Telford is that there is nothing in the center. By nothing I mean absolutly nothing. The Wetherspoons shuts at around 10:00 and from there you are best off getting a Taxi (or drive if you are still sober) to Wellington (about £6.00 worth). Because the shopping center will be shut and the there is nothing but car parks for miles.

There will be more on Telford tomorrow. Stay Tuned

Barracuda, Macclesfield

I was originally planning to bad mouth Barracudas in Macclesfield a little, saying it was too full of Drunken chavs,  stale drinks and rubbish music.. that kind of thing.

But the truth is that I have had so many great nights there (possibly too many) despite the fact that the place is a complete dive. The people that regularly go really make the best of a pretty rough place.

It is one of the larger bars in the Macclesfield, situated in the old Macclesfield Cinema. It makes for a fairly interesting venue. A year or so ago, it used to have an upstairs, but I think they have closed it off (either not enough people or too many throwing stuff off the balcony)

Drinks are average price, music selection is the usual bar stuff you’d find anywhere else, plastic beer glasses and drunk chavs everywhere. That would be a night out in Macclesfield then.

All in all, pretty decent night out.
