I have a unusual dislike of the megabudget films like Ironman. I’m a self confessed nerd, but simply hate the fact that they can throw massive amounts of money at some of my most beloved comic book heroes, throw any kind of half-arsed story written by a 5 year old in there and chuck it at the cinemas.
It’s not like a comic book film has to be this way. The Batman films are a brilliant example of how to do comic book. Comic books were never going to work well as films, the simple stories and characters are not suited straight out of the box.. You have to work extra personality into the characters.
I guess what I’m trying to say is: making Batman really Gothic was utter genius, making Iron Man a douche was not.
